Clintonian thought

OK, higher thought about the Clintonian outburst. This is where we differentiate ourselves to the rest of the world, with the potential that we learn from what happened and apply it going forward.

But before I get into that ... I am wondering if the folks in this country kind of look at this and have the "gut-wrench" response I had. We all know Clinton is a liar, and a scoundrel ... that is not what I am talking about. It is the deja vu thing ... that ugly little finger of his that he shook in our face once before.

Remember ... this jerk is the smartest guy in the world, greatest president of all time ... yada yada yada. Can you not imagine that somebody, sometime told him to never, EVER, wag his finger again ... simply because it is one of the defining moments in his presidency?

OK ... but let us get back to the substance of this.

As we go around and around on this subject, there are some things that everybody in the world seems to agree on ... that our on-the-ground intelligence was severely lacking in this situation. If you buy the Clinton line ... he was "trying real hard" to kill / capture bin Laden. OK ... we all know what total B.S. that is, but for the sake of argument let us grant that for the moment ... if he was in fact trying real hard and being generally thwarted by poor intelligence, then what did this AWESOME leader do to improve things? What actions did he take to improve intelligence?

What changes did he make abroad or at home to :
a) get more people on the ground?
b) turn far more attention on figuring out what bin Laden was up to?
c) removing barriers AT HOME to finding his minions on our shores?
d) catching and interrogating the terrorists?

Get it? I mean ... if he was all intense as he claims, you would think he would have moved mountains (and Monica) to get through the barriers, right?

And I mean if he was serious ... and since his foreign policy was so perfect ... all of our wonderful friends that loved us to death (until, of course, George W took office and got all arrogant) would have bent over backwards to help him, right?

The bottom line, as we all are fully aware ... is that his arguments are total bullcrap, he did not give a damn about bin Laden. Now, to be fair ... I want to restate my position on the matter that I do not necessarily blame anybody in context ... neither Clinton nor Bush saw it coming and ignored perfectly good clues that it was coming (again, 20-20 hindsight).

And I say this as somebody who, during the 2000 campaign, accurately predicted that something like 9-11 was coming ... alhtough I thought it would be bigger / perhaps nuclear.

My objection is not so much that Clinton did not do anything ... we knew all along that he accomplished absolutely nothing his entire presidency ... but that now he is saying that he tried to do something.

Oh, and one other thing of "higher" value ... you will once again notice the "liberal" lunacy herein ... in his little finger wagging tirade, the Schlickmeister talked about what he "tried" to do, and that he had gotten closer than anybody ... like this was some kind of accomplishment!!! THAT is the definition of modern progressive / liberal mindset ... that you actually get credit for TRYING, not DOING.

No, you arrogant ass (er, Mr. Arrogant Ass) ... you don't get credit for "trying" when 3000 people die as a result. Never mind that you are lying about it now.

Going forward, this has to be the message the Republicans drive home. Why? Because it advances the conservative agenda, and is IMPOSSIBLE for liberals to defend against ... even the "cut and run" strategy will be EXTREMELY heavily dependent (more so than "kill all the bad guys") on knowing what is going on. It can look backward and forward :

"Bill Clinton said he 'tried', but what did he do to improve his chances? Nothing ... because democraps don't think about fighting our enemies to defeat them"

"We cannot afford to let the party that put us in this incredibly weak position by decimating our intelligence, to get back into power"
