The "Balance" Vote

In past musings with friends, I made a soft prediction that the Dems might gain back a little power in the upcoming elections. This prediction was not based off of any real issues that Dems have the upper hand on, as it seems the loons have overcome the asylum that is the Democrat party. No, the prediction was instead based on a fundamental principal amongst Americans that a balance is a good thing, so all other things being equal (in the mind of the "balance" voter), they would lean toward the party "out of power".

As an aside ... I actually do see the wisdom of this logic. I am not so arrogant as to believe that conservative thought is somehow immune from the same level of "deranged" folly as current liberal thought is, if conservatives could completely isolate ourselves from any opposing views the way most liberals have done. This would of course require that conservatives somehow gain total control of most media and information outlets, academia, most state capitals, etc; as the liberals had done for decades. At this point in history there is very little concern that this could happen, so I doubt conservative views could ever become as out of touch with reality as liberal doctrine has.

Back to the voter balance issue: The response of the democrat support base to recent events have made me begin to think that these folks are so far off of the reservation that the "balance voter" argument will not hold. I believe the rule still holds, but that the Democrats are so weird that they are not providing any viable alternative to the voters except for liberals with a similar virulent hatred of the Bush family It seems now even the Bush children are despised targets ... a radical alteration of the "rule" that was afforded (rightfully, I might add) to the Clintons' child.

The latest in this parade of rhetorical insanity by liberals is the subject of Hurricane Katrina: literally within 24 hours whackos are already blaming this on GW, and his opposition to the Kyoto Treaty.

Huh?

Just for the record ... William Jefferson Clinton never even offered up Kyoto to the Senate, because he did not want to face the complete humiliation of the 95+ to nothing rejection that Kyoto would have endured in the Congress (in the process, destroying Gore's chances in 2000 and probably losing even more seats than they did). But I digress ...

One of the clowns trumpeting this Kyoto bull is none other than Robert Kennedy, Jr. (By the way, am I the only one who wonders what radiation old Joseph and Rose must have been exposed to in order to produce such fouled contamination of the gene pool as Robert Jr and Teddy and ... never mind?) What was fascinating about Junior's article is that he actually references some scientist who talked about how global warming might eventually lead to more powerful or frequent violent weather, even though the so-called scientist expressedly remarked that there is little chance current conditions have anything to do with it: the current hurricane cycle is simply the natural swing of things (that climatologists knew was coming).

Junior specifically references and quotes the guy and then out-n-out lies about what he said!!! Like nobody would check the reference, you arrogant liar?

One other thing ... how long do you think it will be before the Dems finally figure out that GW is not running for re-election? I mean, how far out of touch with reality (never mind good taste) do you have to be to somehow try to tie a devasting hurricane to a man? In the midst of horrendous human suffering, all the democrats have to offer is blaming this on Bush? Even if you thought it was true that GW conjured this up in a lab below his ranch, are the liberals so clueless that they think they can say it out loud?

Rush Limbaugh has a good point when he says ... no matter how big of a pile of dung you put in front of these democrats, they will step in it. I would argue they are not only stepping in it, but rolling around in it, picking if up and rubbing it all over, and even ... no, I better not go there. Think about this, I heard at least 3 different radio folks predict on Monday/Tuesday that blaming the hurricane on Bush is EXACTLY what the dems would do!!! Talk about predictable ... and pathetic.

I am beginning to believe that the stench around the kook base of the Democrat party is getting
so bad that even a voter whose main motivation is to try to bring "balance" will not be able to pull the trigger on these buffoons.
